Twist the Knife

Why do you hesitate?

If the goal is to annihilate any return of feeling,

To ensure that nothing remains,

To prove your disdain,

And follow your trained beliefs,

To break his spirit, end his longing, and send him away forever,

Then show your cards.

Display that romantic farce,

That need to replace daddy that’s come far too soon to be real.

Be proud of it, as that’s what you’ve chosen.

So choose it for real,

Or admit that it isn’t and stop the canard.

If everything you’ve ever said is true, if that’s what you really want, you have no reason not to,

And, if you do not, then it is a silent admission that it is not what you want.

Bring the hate.

It’s easiest that way, and will end all doubt.

Twist the knife.

Swift pain lingers less.

Give him the reason to never dream of you again.

Or admit that you cannot because you’re heart is false,

Another lie by omission.

Trust that he cares not anyway, not anymore.

It is only morbid curiosity.

What grotesque perversion of manhood have you chosen this time?
