Then there was no reason to care on his side, 

And, as she chose to misunderstand and mock him, 

So he knew that everything he thought about her now was true- 

No heart, no spine, no integrity, no honesty, no capacity for love, 

Only an incessant urge to land a big fish. 

So he would pay it all back with his pen.
