There was none to be had. 

Retribution did not work that way. 

It sought its own ends. 

So when she claimed she was done with it all, 

When he felt he had had enough, 

There was no end coming, 

As there was no resolution, 

And lies could not rest peacefully until there was. 

And there would never be any.
