The unasked for confrontation,
The demand for returned attention,
The crocodile tears,
The trembling when near him.
It had all happened before he’d done anything,
Happened for no cause at all,
Because it’d been a set up,
And she’d lured him back in to fall.
Though he’d done nothing since at all,
But air his inner turmoil,
She still sought to hurt him without call,
Bury him in soil.
Her trap having failed to kill him,
She brooded over it, still lied,
Intent to end him for a whim,
Vindictive ‘til the day she died.
