Every day you keep it, 

Deny it and ignore it, 

Every day you pretend you have no shame, 

Pretend you are innocent, 

Pray as if you have nothing to answer for,

Allow suffering to continue in your name, 

Repress your desires and fake others, for bad people, 

You soul turns a darker shade of gray, 

As denial will eat you from the inside until you are empty.

It is the human condition. 

You cannot keep it unaffected unless you are sociopathic. 

Soon it will be black and you will have no goodness left in you, 

Only spite and fraudulence, 

Only an act you put on for others, and you are already there. 

It’s no way to live, 

And it is not and never was necessary. 

You choose it for no reason. 

You cannot remove him from your conscience, 

And you cannot pretend your way out of it. 

It lives with you until you die, 

And your life can never have true meaning as long as you keep it,

Because it is based upon your omissions and coldness forever. 

You hate him because you loved him, 

And that can’t be denied forever without ruining yourself. 

It is not truth, and it is no way to live.
