There are monsters among us,
And they always win.
For they have no morals to distract them,
To make them second-guess their solipsism, their wicked desires.
The herd sees them succeed and, so, blindly follows their lead,
Though their very existence harms us all.
They are our neighbors, our relatives, smiling faces in daily life,
But under their superficial personas lurks deviancy, hatred, the urge to see others fail.
They pursue the worst of endeavors for their own ends,
And pretend it is just the way, the normalcy of the every day.
And they have made it so, as they have taken over the world.
They claim to build, when they destroy.
The slime rises to the top.
They are the only real evil in the world, divorced from nature,
Creating every ill that faces us in their greed.
They are responsible, yet they never answer for it.
They steal and murder by proxy, by edict, and they never acknowledge their actions.
They are parasites who could not survive without the system they have insidiously molded to their greed.
They are the devils.
They are the vampires.
They are the monsters hiding behind faces of family, tradition, and respectability,
Not even realizing how evil they are, never even contemplating it,
Contributing nothing good to the world but the occasional ruse of philanthropy, only using and taking. They are the reason philanthropy is needed.
They cannot be reasoned with, as they have no intellect that is not mechanical.
They cannot be appealed to, for they have no actual souls, though they feign they do, especially through claims of belief that they do not really follow.
But, worse than even they, are those who enable them,
Those who lend the name of their goodness to these devils’ worlds,
Providing cover and justification, giving them a good name to cover their ugliness.
Those who befriend these monsters, aware of what the evil do,
Hoping to profit themselves.
They are those who justify the devils’ existence through love, of what no one can really say, through marriage and reproduction of the worst among us.
And she was one of them.
And she wanted to be.
For she was evil herself, devoid of honesty, devoid of sincere emotion, devoid of a capacity for real love, only base desires called that.
Dead inside, like those she chose, rejecting the warmth of real love. She would never repent.
She was lost to that world, and there was no reaching her.
She turned from the light, turned from salvation through confession, and chose darkness masquerading as a golden glow.
She enabled the worst among us and became as evil as they, infected with their greed and falsity.
She abetted devils.
